Safety & Health Protocols


During these times of change, we’ve been contemplating on the quietness and tranquility that our spiritual island of Holbox gives us every day. This mystical place remains COVID-free. We are glad to tell you that no cases have been reported yet. We decided to be aware of the choice of positive thoughts for the love we have for this island of fishermen, our beloved guests and collaborators, and our families.

It’s our intention to bring this peace and serenity into each detail of our offering with some architectural renovations starting with our Mojito’s Beach Club, our Ser Esencia Restaurant, and the main building, but most importantly, with the creation of the proper health protocols for keeping you and your loved ones safe.

We have new experiences in the making. A renewed approach to wellness from a true connection with nature and the presence of our Wellness Concierge who is hereto guide you digitally for resolving any questions you might have, and to give you a warm welcome and accompany you during your stay. Live a SER experience of inner peace, unity, and creativity with yoga practices everyday, sailing meditations, renewing of loving vows for couples in the sea, Ayurvedic approaches to menus and food offerings, dinner experiences, among many other opportunities for recognizing trust, beauty, and the presence of love in our heart. 


We are getting ready to welcome you back in August,2020 with kindred spirits and joyful hearts! These are the measures we are applying for this post-COVID period:

Hand Washing & Disinfecting Stations

Hand and shoe sanitizing stations for all guests upon arrival to the hotel.
Temperature measuring upon arrival to the hotel.
Disinfectant gel tissues available throughout the hotel.


Food & Beverage

Tables and chairs arranged to allow healthy distancing.
Menus will be disinfected after each use.
All dining areas disinfected between seats.


Guest Rooms

All rooms deep cleaned and disinfected between stays.
All luggage will be disinfected before delivery to guest’s room.
All touch points (light switches, door handles, etc.) will be regularly disinfected.



Back of House

Staff will use hand and shoe sanitizing stations upon entry to the hotel.
Personal protection equipment worn for all cleaning tasks.
Staff practicing continuous hand washing (every 30 minutes).
Daily temperature measuring upon entry to the hotel.


Public Spaces & Communal

Areas All high-touch points (lights switches, door handles, etc.) will be disinfected regularly.
Disinfectant gel tissues available throughout the hotel.


Pool & Beach Area

Beach beds cleaned and disinfected daily.
Beach furniture arranged to allow healthy distancing.

A more human and conscious approach should be taken in every area of our lives, as we transition into a more compassionate mindset. That is why we created the following policies in which flexibility and understanding are our main drivers:


Flexible Policies

Deposit policies

From August 1st to October 31st: 

  • No deposit required at the moment of the reservation.
  • 24 hours before check-in, charge of 50% of total will be done. 

From November 1st, 2020 to January 7th, 2021: 

  • 50% of total will be charged as deposit required at the moment of the reservation.
  • Remaining 50% will be charged on check-in. 

Date change policies 

From August 1st to October 31st: 

  • Changes of date until 24 hours prior arrival: no penalty. 
  • Changes of date with less than 24 hours prior arrival: 50% of total will be charged. It is not refundable and will be left as a credit for a future reservation.

From November 1st, 2020 to January 7th, 2021: 

  • 20 days prior arrival: no penalty. 
  • Between 20- and 7-days prior arrival: 50% of total will be charged. It is not refundable and will be left as a credit for a future reservation.
  • Within 7 days prior arrival: 100% reservation will be charged. It is not refundable and will be left as a credit for a future reservation.

Cancellation Policies

If the reservation is canceled complete or partially:

From August 1st to October 31st: 

  • Until 24 hours prior arrival: no penalty. 
  • Within 24 hours prior arrival: 50% of total will be charged as penalization.
  • No Show: Penalization 100% of reservation.
  • Anticipated check-out: 100% of reservation will be charged.

From November 1st, 2020 to January 7th, 2021:

  • Until 20 days prior arrival: no penalty. 
  • Between 20- and 7-days prior arrival: 50% of total will be charged. It is not refundable and will be left as a credit for a future reservation.
  • Within 7 days prior arrival: 100% reservation will be charged. It is not refundable and will be left as a credit for a future reservation.
